Yesterday’s Nintendo Direct was packed with surprises, many of which my brain still hasn’t quite fully processed.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond was finally re-revealed, seven years after it was initially announced.
I couldn’t quite believe my eyes when it appeared on the screen. Launching in 2025, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will assumedly tie-in with the launch of next year’s Nintendo Switch successor.

The Mario & Luigi series is back with Mario & Luigi: Brothership, launching this November, and I obviously have to mention the fact that a new The Legend of Zelda game is also on the way.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom launches this September and will see players assume the role of the titular princess instead of Link.
Tucked in between these headliners was the reveal that four classic favourites are finding a home on Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack.
Feast your eyes on The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom’s trailer below.
Those subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack will soon get to enjoy the Game Boy Advance’s The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Four Swords and Metroid: Zero Mission, alongside the Nintendo 64’s Turok: Dinosaur Hunter and Perfect Dark.

What a faultless line-up. Four certified bangers.
Needless to say, Nintendo fans were very excited about the whole affair.
“This is great news. I’m very proud of Nintendo right now,” said one happy fan.
“Turok is OG. It’s one of the best games out there,” said another.

“Thank you Nintendo for bringing back all those amazing games. I appreciate it,” read one comment.
Nintendo Switch Online is easily the cheapest of all the major gaming subscription services out there, even if you opt for the more premium + Expansion Pack option.
A year’s NSO membership will set you back £17.99 or £34.99 for the Expansion Pack option.
A year of PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass can reach triple figures, so Nintendo Switch Online is well worth considering if you love your retro classics.
