It certainly looks as if the end is in sight by which I’m, of course, referring to the speculation surrounding the upcoming successor to the Nintendo Switch.
Plenty of rumours have been doing the rounds, the latest of which is believed to carry some weight.
Yesterday, NateTheHate surfaced claiming that Nintendo would finally unveil the Nintendo Switch 2 this coming Thursday, on 16 January - something that’s since been corroborated by several other sources, including VGC.

It’s said that the showcase will focus on the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware, with a separate showcase planned to shed light on the console’s launch titles.
A new Mario Kart is rumoured to be one of those launch titles, but I still have to urge you to take all of this information with a pinch of salt.
Thankfully, we should receive confirmation in a few days time if the showcase is indeed real.
In the meantime, a new rumour has surfaced which also concerns the topic of launch titles as the Nintendo Switch 2 may be gaining a beloved Xbox IP.

Pokémon Legends Z-A is one title that we know will be launching this year.
This tidbit of information also comes from NateTheHate who, since breaking the internet with his showcase intel, has surfaced to reveal that two Xbox IPs will likely soon be confirmed for the Switch 2.
As reported by Hitmarker, NateTheHate believes Microsoft will be a “very big supporter” of the console, with both Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator possibly porting over.

This feels plausible. We’ve all seen Microsoft’s ‘This Is An Xbox’ marketing campaign.
The company is far less concerned with first-party exclusives and making Xbox consoles the go-to gaming destination than it once was.
Instead, Microsoft is interested in building a far-reaching Xbox ecosystem, even if that means porting Xbox franchises to competitor’s consoles.
Halo and Flight Sim are two of Microsoft’s most prominent first-party exclusives, so this would be a pretty bold thing for the company to do.

It’s said the titles would also land on PS5. I’d urge you to take this, like all other Switch 2 information, with a pinch of salt.
Halo on PS5 feels unlikely but hey, never say never.
