Leakers believe they may have discovered a new PS Plus-style service that will be available for the Nintendo Switch 2 at launch, following some revelations regarding the console’s new “Campus”-related functions.
Thank you in advance to TweakTown's Jak Connor for spotting this one!
Yesterday, we published a story regarding the mysterious “C” button, and its potential functions, that has been spotted on the leaked dummy Nintendo Switch 2 units that have been floating around the internet.

Long story short, leakers believe that the “C” button actually stands for “Campus” and that it will essentially serve as the Nintendo Switch 2’s answer to the PlayStation 5’s “Share” button.
Supposedly, you’ll be able to use it to take screenshots, record video and access the console’s inbuilt chat function… which is why data miners now believe that the Campus button will be directly tied to a paid subscription model.
Who's counting down the days to the release of Pokémon Legends Z-A?
They also noted that the console seems to have a screen sharing option built-in, much like the PlayStation 5, which is one of the key reasons the leakers believe that most of the Campus’ functions will require access to Nintendo Switch Online (or, alternatively, a new version of said service that is specific to the Nintendo Switch 2).

Personally, I also wouldn’t be surprised if this results in Nintendo adopting some kind of PS Plus catalogue service for the new console too.
The current Nintendo Switch does have something similar, but it’s aimed at letting players emulate older, more retro Nintendo titles.
The Nintendo Switch 2 will be backwards compatible, but a PS Plus Extra service could be used to let users play titles from the previous generation more readily.
Of course, we'll find out more about the now confirmed console at the planned showcase on 2 April.
