April can’t get here fast enough as Nintendo will use their Direct showcase to tell us much more about the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, including, hopefully, the price.

For the past few weeks, we’ve heard countless rumours regarding the Nintendo Switch 2 pricing as retailers earmark their listings with price tags.

We'll be waiting until April before we hear more about the Switch 2.

Before we get stuck into this latest update, coming from major retailer Costco, it’s worth remembering that these prices are usually placeholders.

Until Nintendo officially announces their pricing, retailers can only use educated guesswork to add onto their listings as they start to open preorders.

So, with a healthy dose of salt in hand, it appears that Costco has priced the highly anticipated console at $499 CAD.

This comes from Canada, meaning when converted to US currency, the unit would cost around $350, or £280 in GBP.

The rumour came up on Famiboards after a Costco employee shared an internal price listing not yet public.

The images actually show the message “Nintendo Switch Place Holder” (it was actually misspelt as “Palce Holder” on the listing) giving you an idea that this could simply be a price picked by Costco rather than dictated by Nintendo.

There’s no way to judge the legitimacy of the price attached, but if I were a betting man, I’d say that the price may not be far off of this guesswork.

We already know that the Switch 2 will be more powerful than the original console; we have an idea of how the Joy Cons will operate from patents that have leaked, too.

This all points to a possible $400-500, but we’ll need to wait until April when everything is formally announced, including the launch date.

Nintendo’s follow-up console is hotly anticipated by millions, who are eager to see what the company brings us.
