Nintendo Switch 2 price leak is music to our ears

Nintendo Switch 2 price leak is music to our ears

Quite the bargain

Officially announced earlier this month, despite being the worst kept secret in gaming, we now know that the Nintendo Switch 2 is on the way.

However, with details scarce until April’s showcase, we have no idea when the Nintendo Switch 2 will be released or how much its price tag will be.

Check out the official Nintendo Switch 2 announcement trailer below!

With the showcase set to air on 2 April, there are a few months left until we get confirmation but until then, retailers are making their own guesses as to how much they expect the Nintendo Switch 2 will be.

According to Italian retailer Games and Movies, who has already started offering pre-orders for the handheld, it has marked the Nintendo Switch 2 as €364.99/£307.

If true, this will be quite an increase from the price of the Nintendo Switch which currently retails at around £259.99 on the official Nintendo online store.

However, that is to be expected considering this next handheld is bigger and a whole lot more powerful.

That being said, the online store also adds the following disclaimer: “By pre-ordering it now you can guarantee the discounted price”.

This would make it seem as though the actual handheld will be even more expensive, and the estimated €364.99 is just part of a pre-order deal.

Of course, this price is also merely a placeholder but we can expect retailers to have at least some idea of how much a new release will be.

That being said, the Italian retailer has not made any guesses at a potential release date and has marked the pre-order as being valid until 31 December.

With many fans believing that the Nintendo Switch 2 will go on sale some time in June, it remains to be seen but with the showcase coming soon, we can expect to hear at least a pre-order date if nothing else.
