If you thought that the unveiling of the Nintendo Switch 2 would put a stop to the endless leaks and speculation, you thought wrong.
You see, it’s not until 2 April that Nintendo is actually revealing the console’s specs and launch software which means we have much to discuss before then.
There is some information we can glean from the Nintendo Switch 2’s vague reveal video.

It appears to be larger than the OG Switch, with the Joy-Cons featuring a more curved design.
They will snap on magnetically, no longer sliding down as before.
It also appears that the Joy-Cons may have mouse functionality if one segment of the video is anything to go by which shows them gliding around.
As for those coveted specifications though, one dataminer may have some of the answers we seek.

ICYMI: Take a look at the reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2 below.
As reported by TweakTown, Digital Foundry first shared this intel, revealing that the Nintendo Switch 2 will supposedly be powered by an 8nm chip with a GPU clock speed of 561 MHz in handheld mode and 10007.25 MHz in docked.
When it comes to the CPU, it’s believed that the Nintendo Switch 2 will run at 1100.8 MHz in handheld mode, and 998.4 MHz in docked.

If all this tech jargon has left you scratching your head, worry not. I’ll assist in drawing conclusions from this.
Essentially, it’s strange that the CPU clock speed would drop during docked mode as this is, as you can see from the GPU figures, when the console is technically slightly more powerful.
As such, the tech whizzes as Digital Foundry believe that there’s something Nintendo is not telling us about the console when it’s in docked mode - something that could be unveiled at the 2 April Direct.
As for what that might be, well, that remains up in the air.

The running of software obviously can affect the CPU, which certainly makes you wonder whether the Nintendo Switch 2 has any docked-specific apps.
It’s worth taking this information with a pinch of salt for now, just until Nintendo reveals all in April.
