Legendary Nintendo creator and producer, Masahiro Sakurai, is cooking up something new and fans are convinced it will be a Switch 2 launch title.
Sakurai has been creating YouTube content for the past couple of years and as it recently came to an end he admitted that he’d been working on a new game the whole time.
Nintendo recently brought us a new Zelda game where you could actually play as the princess herself
According to the latest video, the developer was given a chance to write up a proposal which he completed “at lightning speed.”

This was all while recording and working on a YouTube show, and polishing off the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC.
Sakurai wouldn’t say much about the new project, simply saying, “I'm sorry I can't share more about this project, but assuming we're able to get it made, it should be announced sooner or later.”
Of course, fans are now trying to work out what the creator has been working on.
While many of us would love another Super Smash Bros, it was pretty clear with Ultimate that it would be the definitive version for some time.

This could point to a whole new IP, or a revisit to some of Sakurai’s older franchises, such as Kid Icarus.
On Reddit, one fan says, “Really hoping it’s a follow up to Kid Icarus Uprising or Kirby Air Ride.”
While on Twitter, a player also wants to see a return to Kid Icarus, saying, “I hope he is working on something new. Otherwise, he will make an overdose of Smash … Kid Icarus Uprising 2?
Of course, we could be seeing the legend turn to a brand-new idea, which would be ideal for a new console.

Given that other creators are working on Kirby, it could only be Kid Icarus if Sakurai is going back to the well.
Sadly, we won’t know much more until we see Switch 2 or when the creator gets the green light to announce the title.
