Expectations for the Nintendo Switch 2 are causing friction amongst fans.

The announcement of Nintendo's next console should be a cause for celebration, yet it's proving to be a rather bitter affair.

In recent days, fans have been arguing amongst themselves about the likelihood of the rumoured release date being true, and while a recent shipping update has plenty of them hyped, it's not enough to stop the incessant bickering that's dominating these discussions.

Disagreement is the theme of the day, for a leak of the Switch 2's controllers has annoyed fans.

This isn't the first so-called leak of the successor's appearance and features, however, this latest discovery is one that looks more complete.

In the image shared on social media, originating from leaker Bilibili, we see controllers that look almost identical to the Joy-Cons we know (and loathe).

Given the fact that the Switch's design is pretty solid, save for the irritating drifting issues, it makes sense that Nintendo hasn't altered its design all that much. If at all, going by what these images depict.

Nonetheless, gamers aren't happy.

Not one bit.

"Eight years to improve them and this did this?" asked @uPilott.

To which, user @MucharV responded, "As long as they've fixed drift I don't care how much (or how little) changes about the design."

This may be an example of one conversation, but it represents the general sentiments of a fandom divided.

There are also those who see this as a bogus leak, citing the poor quality of the alleged hardware shown.

"Wow made with 3D printer," commented @Linko90. "It's getting annoying with this fake."

See? They were that upset that couldn't even finish their sentence.

It matters little whether you're convinced by this leak or not, what matters is how frustrated Nintendo players are at still waiting for Switch 2 information.

We've been fed only crumbs thus far, now we wait the actual sandwich.
