The Nintendo Switch 2 is high on many people’s wish lists but thanks to scalpers waiting in the wings, fans are concerned that there just won’t be enough units upon launch.
It has been seven years since the launch of the much-loved Nintendo Switch and it was through Nintendo’s latest handheld that we have been able to experience titles such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Animal Crossing: New Horizons to name a few.
Which iconic titles will be released for the Nintendo Switch 2?
However, it is now time for it to make room for the Nintendo Switch 2 with the brand-new console expected to be announced at the end of the fiscal year (March 2025).

Until then, details on the highly-anticipated console are pretty scarce but according to new alleged information, we now have a slight idea on the Nintendo Switch 2’s initial shipment size.
Found on a Famiboard thread via a code that has since been decoded, we know the following information:
"The initial stock quantity has been finalized, and the factory will plan production accordingly. I can't disclose the exact number, but for the U.S. market alone, it's roughly 2.5 times the volume from March 2017."
If we go back to March 2017, which is when the Nintendo Switch was launched, the handheld had 2.74m units shipped out worldwide between 3-31 March.
