Nintendo fans will be pleased to know that the upcoming Switch 2 has been labelled “very capable”.

Nintendo is one of the oldest brands in entertainment, founded in 1889. Yet, it wasn't until 1983, when the Japanese giant launched the NES home console, that it became a global giant in the video game industry.

Since the early 80s, Nintendo has blessed us with amazing home consoles, including the NES, Game Boy, SNES, N64, Wii, Nintendo Switch, and much more. In turn, we’ve had iconic video game brands, such as Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, and Pokémon.

So it’s understandable that Nintendo fans are excited about the arrival of its next console, currently unofficially dubbed the Switch 2. However, we know that the Switch 2 is coming, as confirmed by Nintendo, but in terms of specs, no details have officially dropped.

It would be safe to assume that the visuals and performance will be improved over its predecessor and we at least know that it will be backwards compatible with original Switch games.

Now fans are eagerly awaiting details on the system specifications not to mention its price. But it seems before any new Nintendo console arrives, some fans fear that it will not be able to handle major AAA titles and publishers may choose to ignore the system entirely.

Thankfully, we’ve been proven time and time again not to underestimate Nintendo. Sure, some games may have to be toned down to perform on the console but titles such as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Dying Light and Alien: Isolation ported on the Nintendo Switch have proven that anything is possible with the right talent and dedication.

With that in mind, a developer has reportedly claimed that the Nintendo Switch 2 won't get AAA games and the console is “weak”. In response to that, another developer has reportedly claimed something very different.

The other developer has not only claimed that the Nintendo Switch 2 has “very capable” hardware but also added that gamers “will be pleasantly surprised”.

Hopefully, Nintendo will release all the official details in the coming months and we’ll keep you posted when that happens.
