It’s going to be a good day.
Why? It’s Pokémon Day, of course, celebrated on 27 February every year.
Later today, The Pokémon Company will host its latest Pokémon Presents event.

If you do want to tune in, it’s due to be held at 2pm GMT / 6am PST.
I’m imagining that we’ll receive an update on the upcoming Pokémon Legends Z-A which is due to launch this year, assumedly on the Nintendo Switch 2.
There are plenty of other rumours doing the rounds, with many wondering if we could see a multiplayer title or classic remake unveiled.
Admittedly, I think we should all temper our expectations.

You see, Pokémon is due to celebrate its 30th anniversary next year, so I’m imagining it’s then that we’ll welcome a bumper Pokémon Presents.
Already, fans are bursting with excitement over what next year’s Pokémon game might have in store.
Last year’s Pokémon Presents brought us the first reveal trailer for Pokémon Legends Z-A.
I can’t quite decide how I think The Pokémon Company might celebrate the occasion.

Given that Red and Green began the franchise, it would make the most sense to revisit those titles but, as you know, Red and Green have already been remade.
That being said, I’d love to see them reimagined in the HD2D style popularised by Square Enix.
“They gotta really make one of the best Pokémon games of all time,” one Reddit user said of the occasion.
“Nothing's probably topping original Gen 1 and original Gen 2. If you lived through it like I did, you will know how epic those were. But they could at least aim to make the third best Pokémon game of all time.”

“I just hope that for once they release the masterpiece that the franchise deserves on console,” added LandscapeOk2955.
There’s no need for us to speculate on the future though when new announcements are coming our way today.
It goes without saying that we’ll be here bringing you the latest headlines during today’s Pokémon Presents event.
