The Nintendo Switch 2 could have 28 games to play at launch - a ridiculous number, but don’t get too excited yet.

Knowing Nintendo, the debut of its next home console will be marked by some bangers right out of the gate.

If you somehow missed the announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2, by the way, check it out below.

The OG Nintendo Switch launched with The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild which was shortly followed by Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, just as an example of what we could see with the Nintendo Switch 2.

While there isn’t a confirmed list of titles, ComicBook has collated every rumour in a new report, which is where the number 28 has come from.

It’s easy to make a few guesses as to what we could see launched alongside the console, like that new Mario Kart game we saw in the reveal trailer.

Additionally, it’s said a new 3D Super Mario game will be released at launch, as will a remaster/remake of a Legend Of Zelda title, but we don’t know which one just yet. Speculation says it’s a remaster of Breath Of The Wild, which would be cool but a bit disappointing.

There’s also Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and a number of Xbox games that are rumoured to make the jump to Nintendo’s platforms, like Doom: The Dark Ages.

Other Xbox games like Gears Of War and Halo: The Master Chief Collection are also believed to be launching on Nintendo’s next console, seemingly confirmed by the head of the company Phil Spencer in a recent interview.

At the time of writing, we’re still very much in the dark on what Nintendo is planning for later in the year, but we’ll know more in April when the first Nintendo Direct kicks off.

This could potentially be followed by another Direct that shows off software entirely, which should give us a better idea of what we’ll see on launch day and what will come later in the Switch 2’s life.
