Animal Crossing has made its triumphant return, just not in the way we were expecting. Still, it’s cool nonetheless.
The Animal Crossing series is, in my opinion, peak Nintendo, and I can’t wait to see how the series progresses when it moves onto the Nintendo Switch 2.
Animal Crossing New Horizons was a little underdone in areas, but still a great time.
While no new game announcements have been made just yet, a new entry is all but inevitable.

In the meantime, there’s an exciting collaboration going on between Nintendo and Sea Life, as anyone in the UK visiting one of the select included aquariums will be greeted with Animal Crossing-themed activities and content.
The event kicks off in February and sort of feels like a real-life version of the in-game event Blathers holds in the Museum from time to time.
Participants will dig up fossils, meet some Animal Crossing characters like Aurora and Octavian, and even search for Gulliver who’s clearly gotten himself shipwrecked again.
A variety of Sea Life locations will be supporting the event, including London, Manchester, Birmingham, Brighton, and Chessington World of Adventures, all at different times of the year.

The first will be Manchester, which begins on 8 February next month, so it looks like I’ll be booking a ticket soon…
As for the future of the Animal Crossing series, I think there’s a solid chance we get another entry announced sometime into the Nintendo Switch 2’s life.
I’d say a launch title is out of the question but I’d love to be surprised, either way, we’ll get one eventually.
First we need to actually see the Nintendo Switch 2 though, as it still hasn’t been announced by Nintendo yet.

There are rumours that an announcement is coming later this month, and fingers-crossed that’s the case as one is desperately needed.
