A new, official, Bethesda-developed Elder Scrolls title is almost upon us - but don’t get too excited, we’re not talking about The Elder Scrolls 6.
We’re talking about The Elder Scrolls: Castles, a free-to-play mobile title that’s being developed by the same team behind Fallout Shelter. Why are you booing? Do you guys not have phones?
Anything's better than waiting for The Elder Scrolls VI right?
As recently announced on the official Bethesda Studios Twitter account alongside a new trailer for the game, the game will be launching in select countries on both the Apple App Store and Google Play on the 10th of September this year.

If you’re already feeling super keen to give it a go, then you can pre-register on Bethesda’s website now.
The official website gives us a little more insight into how the game plays too, as it says that players will be able to “train your subjects, name heirs, and maintain order to help your kingdom flourish”.
You’ll also be able to “customize your castle from the ground up, adding and expanding rooms, placing lavish decorations and inspirational monuments, and even assign subjects to workstations to ensure your castle has the resources to thrive for years to come”.
If some of you are confused and could have sworn this game already came out, then you’d sort of be right.

It originally launched in early access in the Philippines at the end of 2023, and then later in both Sweden and Norway in February of this year.
It’s since been made available in a few other countries since then, including Ireland, Iceland, Australia, Denmark, Finland, and Germany.
September 10th marks the release of the full game however, although it does seem that some countries won’t be granted access to the mobile game immediately.
No word yet on exactly which countries have been left out, but Bethesda will assumedly let us know a little closer to the time of release.
