If you’re an existing Netflix subscriber (or were planning to join the service any time soon, for that matter), then you’re in luck. Subscribers can currently get exclusive access to a brand new game starring Sega’s iconic blue hedgehog, totally free.
Netflix Games is easily one of Netflix’s most underrated features. The service is available to all subscribers, even those paying for the ad-supported tier, and contains over 50 games, including some absolute gems like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge, Oxenfree, and its newly released sequel, Oxenfree II: Lost Signals.
Take a look at the trailer for Sonic Prime Dash below.
Now though, as VG247 reports, an all-new Sonic game has landed on Netflix Games, and it ties into the second season of the animated Netflix series, Sonic Prime. Titled Sonic Prime Dash, the endless runner platformer is a new instalment in the Sonic Dash series, which features new characters including Rusty Rose and Tails Nine. Throughout your time playing, you’ll be able to rescue animals, rebuild the island and unlock new levels.

If you’ve played any of the other Sonic Dash games, you’ll know the gist, but Prime Dash certainly looks like the most exciting instalment to date. It might have a simple concept, but it’s the sort of game you could easily get absorbed in for ages trying to beat your own records.
As I mentioned near the top of this article, Netflix subscribers shouldn’t miss out on the opportunity to play Oxenfree II: Lost Signals as part of their subscription. In his review, GAMINGbible’s Ewan Moore gave the supernatural narrative adventure a 9/10, and praised the story, soundtrack and phenomenal performances. He wrote: “Oxenfree II: The Lost Signals was worth the wait. Not only is it a brilliant sequel in its own right, it’s a welcome reminder of the kind of story we can only experience in a video game.”
Oxenfree II and Sonic Prime Dash are both free to play via Netflix Games right now.
