Hogwarts Legacy players are disappointed that the game never delivered features that were promised in the build-up to its release.
Despite its overwhelming success, making over $1 billion across Xbox, PlayStation and PC platforms, Hogwarts Legacy has its fair share of problems.
Check out the trailer for Hogwarts Legacy below.
It hasn’t stopped players from enjoying their time with the game, many of which are still racing up and down the halls of Hogwarts, looking for secrets, modding the game with their own additions, and praising the little details the developers put into the game. That being said, even the most die-hard fans are quick to point out its shortcomings, mainly a lack of in-game content and activities which makes the world feel criminally empty.

While the majority of fans are thinking ahead to the next game in the Harry Potter universe, some are now looking back to before Hogwarts Legacy was released, specifically at promises the developers made that never came to fruition.
Reddit user GrandOldPuke asked the HarryPotterGame subreddit, “Did any of these claims from the devs turn out to be true? Or were they just grossly exaggerated or even straight up false?” Below was a screenshot of an old news article that was published prior to the game’s release, featuring an interview with devs from Avalanche Software talking about the game. In the interview, they said, “Interacting with someone in a side quest will impact how you interact with them in the main storyline - and vice versa.”
They went on to add, “The order in which the player chooses to complete these quests will impact their story and game. Everything is interconnected.” Players responded to the post, saying the claims were exaggerated at best, and completely fabricated at worst. “Straight up false. There are no repercussions in this game whatsoever. Nothing is interconnected," said one player. “Objectively false,” added another, while one comment read, “False as f**k. They got everybody hyped and they delivered a weak game. Could’ve been so much more.”
Interconnected stories aren’t the only thing cut from the game prior to its release, as a morality system was reportedly removed during development. The system would deduct points from the player’s Hogwarts house for misbehaving and killing students… which I think needed a more severe punishment but oh well.
