Harry Potter fans setting huge expectations for new game

Harry Potter fans setting huge expectations for new game

Want doesn't always get, sadly

We don’t want to say that Harry Potter fans are setting themselves up for disappointment, but they’re definitely at risk of doing so.

With more Harry Potters games on the way, it makes sense that fans are discussing the features they’d like to see.

Even more so when in connection to Hogwarts Legacys sequel.

Still, with live service seemingly confirmed, and the future of the franchise feeling more unknown by the day, are fans setting themselves up to be underwhelmed?

The biggest change players want to see is Warner Bros allow them to explore the lake.

“Not just dive but actually into the lake (think Goblet of Fire),” shared ajofarkham91 to kick start the Reddit discussion.

Speaking of new games, have you watched the Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions trailer?

Not soon after, several other fans agreed that the lake was a “big missed mark”, and that exploration should be included in the next game.

User Potato7177 would like to see the scrapped companion system finally come into effect in Hogwarts Legacy 2.

Another popular suggestion was for the spells to offer more complexity.

“What i think would have been cool was when you take a class to learn a spell, the first day you learn it, the spell is not only unreliable, but backfires and has unintended effects,” commented BippNasty541.

Such a detailed progression system would be enjoyable for fans to attempt to master, however, it would also prove trickier to implement.

But greater exploration around the castle, as well as more variety and finesse when it comes to the subplots of the story seems more than feasible.

You would hope, anyway.

Although fans are still finding hidden rooms over a year later, the secrets aren’t coming as thick and fast as we’ve seen from other titles, like Red Dead Redemption 2, for example.

Players want better replayability; something to entice them back time and again.

There are many ways the sequel can do this, but it’s up to the developers to make those much-needed changes happen.

Right now, we’re not sure the sequel can live up to all these expectations.
