Is the GTA fandom once again clowning itself?
We ask after an apparent teaser for GTA VI has appeared in the newest update for GTA Online.
Before we get into this teaser, we’d like to begin by saying that it isn’t quite as far-fetched as other theories that have been bandied about the community.

The moon theory, for one, was by far the strangest we’ve seen.
Here we go again, watching the same GTA VI trailer
But hype makes you do questionable things.

As for this teaser, initially you’d be forgiven for believing it nothing more than a GTA: Vice City easter egg, as plenty of fans have already suggested.
In the image, you’ll notice a golden statue, similar in appearance to the gold and green ones that we used to search for in Vice City.
Considering Vice City and GTA VI are based upon Miami, and thus, we assume, in the same universe, such a discovery could be hinting at similar statues appearing across the GTA VI map.
It’s certainly a stretch, but it isn’t un unreasonable one to make.

The fact that Rockstar Games is choosing to further highlight Vice City when the new game is due to launch next year feels significant.
The fans agree, though they’re divided on its meaning.
“It’s clear as day this update is going to be filled with Vice City teasers,” said @videotechuk_.

User @ok_ced commented, “Finally a legit teaser from Rockstar.”
It’s now been a year since the first GTA VI trailer was released, and still we’re waiting on that second one.
Consequently, it’s unsurprising that fans are homing in on details like this and making assumptions.
This could just be Rockstar’s way of keeping the love for its older titles alive, however, that doesn’t quite sit right with the majority of fans.

Hopefully, the reasoning behind this teaser, and what it ultimately references, will be revealed in the not-too-distant future.
