GTA 6 release date leak has fans freaking out

GTA 6 release date leak has fans freaking out

Take it with a pinch of salt though!

GTA VI’s actual release date might have leaked online the other day, though take it with a pinch of salt.

What a difficult waiting game we’re playing as eagerly watch the Rockstar Games social channels for news on GTA VI.

All we’ve had so far is one recording-breaking trailer which you can see below

While that second trailer is definitely on the way at some point in the future, the real prize fans like myself are seeking is a release date for the title.

All we know so far is that GTA VI will launch late into 2025, for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, PC users will unfortunately be left out until a dedicated port is released.

While Rockstar Games is yet to give us one, it’s seemingly been teasing the long-awaited date, and fans even think it accidentally leaked the other day…

The game’s IMDb page was casually updated with a release date of 27 October 2025, and while it’s been promptly changed since then many users managed to grab some screenshots before it vanished.

Now there are two possibilities here, either someone messed up and updated it with the correct date before it was spotted and removed, or someone was goofing around and thought it’d be funny to put a fake date in.

Obviously take the whole thing with a healthy handful of salt, as until Rockstar Games officially announces the launch date through its own channels nothing can be confirmed.

That being said, an October release date does fit into Fall 2025, so it wouldn’t be too surprising if it was the right month but the wrong day.

There’s no way of knowing for sure, though I’m sure fans are already considering booking some time off work in October just in case that leaked date was the genuine article…
