Here we are again, talking about The Elder Scrolls VI, one of the most highly anticipated games of all time, but one which we know very little about.
What makes matters worse is that Bethesda revealed The Elder Scrolls VI during E3 2018, and at this point, it’s been fast approaching seven years since that announcement. Seven years, and officially, we don't know when it will be released.

Heck, we don't even know if the next entry in The Elder Scrolls series will be released in this generation. What’s more, we’ve only seen a cinematic trailer with a flyover view of Tamriel, and we’re still waiting for just a snippet of gameplay.

As such, much of the excitement from fans for The Elder Scrolls VI has turned into anger with questions being asked why on Earth Bethesda announced the fantasy RPG when they did in the first place.
There has also been talk of a playable build of The Elder Scrolls VI in-house at Bethesda but that alone probably isn't worth getting excited about. Playable builds exist years before an announcement and the chances are, that it’s not in a presentable state.
“It has been 214 days since early builds of TES VI were announced, what do you think those builds are like now and what do you think they were back then?” asked Redditor EvenAH27.

“Sorry for the extremely loaded question, but it has almost been two-thirds of a year and I think that is more than enough time for an early build to have more structure, detail, and substance,” they continued.

“Finished a prototype of the base game systems and the initial overall map layout,” suggested ThePrinceJays. “From now on Bethesda is going to be putting its concept design into reality, testing and improving it until they get what they want.”
“I imagine that Grandma Shirley Curry's character has been fully implemented into the game by now, complete with quirky dialogue and a list of skills she's really good with,” said YouCantTakeThisName.
Speaking of which, “Skyrim Grandma” has recently retired from streaming video games and we really do hope that The Elder Scrolls VI releases before it’s too late.
“They're still looking for developers to work on graphics, AI, animation, gameplay, etc. It may still be in pre-alpha, but there are still three to four years until release,” replied Orbit_JP kickstarted by EvenAH27.

Hopefully, in the coming months, Bethesda will put us all out of our misery and present a new reveal for The Elder Scrolls VI. We’ll keep you posted when that happens.
