Dark Souls: Cinders is basically the Dark Souls 4 we've been waiting on

It's the closest we'll get anyway

Dark Souls 4 can wait, this expansion is all we need for the time being before FromSoftware dives back into the world of Hollows.

I joke of course, I don’t think we’re ever going to get Dark Souls 4 as I really don’t think there’s anywhere else to go with that world or story, I’d take some remakes or remasters though for sure…

The Dark Souls universe does live on though, as some of its bosses have somehow found their way into the new Elden Ring game?!

How the Nameless King, Centipede Demon and other Dark Souls bosses found their way to the Lands Between is a mystery at the time of writing, but it was an awesome reveal that got fans like myself very excited, hopefully Ornstein or Artorias show up as well…

In the meantime though you can in a way play a brand-new Dark Souls game, Dark Souls: Cinders, which is an expansion to Dark Souls 3 with all new content.

Now there’s a lot of stuff to talk about for this mod so to save time I’ll just go over the highlights, which include *inhales*

Less linear map design, new classes and starting gifts, new bosses to fight, an all-new mode called Gauntlet which is like a boss rush, changes to movesets and weapons arts, stronger ally summons and much, much more.

It’s a total overhaul in every sense and a lot of effort was put into it, so much so that it truly is like a sequel to Dark Souls 3 in the same sense Shadow Of The Erdtree was pretty much a sequel to Elden Ring.

If you love the games like I do it’s worth checking out as it’s an entirely different challenge to undertake, and probably the closest we’ll ever get to a full-on continuation of the series, unless FromSoftware surprises us one day.

I like Red Dead Redemption 2 for the most part, but this feature would annoy me so much if they brought it back for GTA VI.
