If Cyberpunk 2077 was released today in its current state, it’d likely be a nomination for Game Of The Year, at least that’s what fans believe.
Unfortunately it didn’t release in its current state, it was a broken buggy mess that required a lot of manpower to fix.
Still, it did get fixed in the end so I guess that’s the important thing? And we got a fantastic game out of it too
Fear not though, as it seems CD Projekt Red has learnt from its mistakes and is ensuring future games like the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel don’t suffer the same fate.

The developer is launching an expanded version of its playtesting program, giving a lucky number of players the chance to be part of the development process and highlight flaws in upcoming releases.
Interested participants will need to fill out a questionnaire, as well as be over the age of 16 and not working in the games industry to be eligible.
If you’re selected it’s believed you’ll go hands-on with future CD Projekt Red games while they’re still being developed, like the aforementioned Cyberpunk 2077 sequel and The Witcher 4, which will release first.
It’s an exciting opportunity, after all CD Projekt Red is renowned for creating some of the best video game experiences ever made, so being part of that development cycle sounds like a lot of fun.

However what it also implies is the company is taking extra measures to ensure all of its upcoming games are polished to perfection, lest they suffer the same fate as Cyberpunk.
While Cyberpunk 2077 did go through a redemption arc, let’s not forget a lot of planned content was scrapped due to all the time and effort that had to go into fixing the game before Phantom Liberty came out.
If this playtesting program will prevent similar mistakes from happening, I’m sure fans will be all for it.
