Cyberpunk 2077 looks drastically different thanks to a mod that lets you play from an entirely new perspective.
If you’re looking for ways to make Cyberpunk 2077 look nicer on your PC you’ll undoubtedly be familiar with a number of graphical mods that enhance the resolution, framerate, colours and much more. However the mod we’re talking about today makes the seemingly simple change in camera perspective, yet it completely alters the game.

The mod is called Unrecord Bodycam Reshade, and as the name implies it takes a lot of inspiration from the Unreal Engine 5 game, Unrecord. For those who aren’t aware Unrecord is a first-person shooter that looks like you're watching bodycam footage. It’s not the first of its kind and there have been several other projects since with a similar aesthetic, though it’s taken the internet by storm, especially considering the Unreal Engine 5 graphics looked too realistic to be a video game for a lot of viewers.

Modder NextGen Dreams added this mod to their game and created a video showing off the glorious Night City from a perspective we’ve never seen before. At first the fish-eye view is a little bit jarring, but once you become accustomed to it, it genuinely looks like V is patrolling the city with a bodycam on, and we’re simply reviewing the footage after one of their rampages.
It’s a whole new way to play the game, and worth trying for yourself if you’re one of the fans who were understandably disappointed at the lack of a third-person camera option. Luckily a third-person mode is reportedly on the cards for the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, which is in the early stages of development with Unreal Engine 5.
CD Projekt Red has said the sequel is a long wait from releasing, a good thing considering the poor state of the first game due to its rushed development.
