The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind is being praised as the “hail mary” that saved Bethesda from bankruptcy, and made them the company they are today.
Video game production is a tricky business, you need to make sure you’ve got an idea that your audience will like, the resources to develop it, and a way of publishing it.
The next Bethesda game will be The Elder Scrolls VI, check out the teaser trailer below!
For a company like Bethesda, they’ve all an abundance of all three to keep them going over the years, with franchises like The Elder Scrolls, Fallout and most recently, Starfield.

However there was a time when Bethesda wasn’t the titan of game design it is today, and fans are looking back on what propelled the company to greatness and saved it from destruction, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.
Reddit user Agent1230 made a post asking: “What video game franchise took a huge risk that paid off big time?” and while it garnered thousands of comments highlighted an extensive collection of games, Bethesda’s Morrowind stood out amongst the rest.
One commenter briefly recited the tale of its development and release, saying: “The Elder Scrolls with Morrowind. The studio was heading toward bankruptcy, so they threw one last Hail Mary with Morrowind and somehow got it to run on the OG Xbox. Now Bethesda is a juggernaut.”
Another added: “Morrowind was all the hype when it got released. They did indeed hit it out of the park with that one. I distinctly remember constantly hearing about this game despite the fact that I wasn't that involved with games yet.”

Finally one said: “It's still widely regarded as one of the best RPGs ever, as it should be.”
Next on Bethesda’s list of releases is another entry in the Elder Scrolls series, The Elder Scrolls VI, which is expected to be released sometime in the next few years, though whether it has the same impact on gamers as Morrowind did remains to be seen.
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind is playable on PC as well as modern Xbox consoles thanks to backwards compatibility.
