Oh, how the tables have turned.

Once, the Assassin’s Creed fandom was excited about Assassin’s Creed Invictus, yet now they’re both amused and concerned with the direction it’s taking.

In early 2024, we revealed that the new Assassin’s Creed title would launch in 2025, according to an insider.

As far as we’re aware, that is still the plan if the rumour is to be believed. However, it’s not the release date of this Ubisoft multiplayer experience that has gamers worried.

Recent reports about the game suggest that it’ll be a “kind of Fall Guys” format.

This tidbit of speculation comes from well-known leaker j0nathan, and has since been shared on Reddit by Puzzleheaded_Gas3417.

Not only is it claimed that the title will utilise the above format, but that it’ll also have a “very arcade” style of gameplay.

Given how the AC fandom reacts to most news about the franchise, it’s hardly shocking that many are displeased by this update.

At first, the remarks started off in good humour, as demonstrated by this post from BrunoHM, “If true, can't say that was what I envisioned for it, but can't really judge anything just yet. Curious times ahead, either way.”

However, that soon changed.

“What the f**k?,” said kutta__.

Another post reads, “That honestly could not sound any worse so it must be true.”

Unfortunately, given Ubisoft’s recent track record, it’s unsurprising that so many believe this information to be accurate.

Which brings us to our next point – it might not be true.

Without any official announcement from Ubisoft, we must assume this is speculation only until told otherwise.

You surely know this by now; we’ve been here countless times before.

If this Invictus news is genuine though, then fans believe that Ubisoft sees the franchise as nothing more than “a tagline for any game idea”.
