Palworld, one of the most popular video games of recent times, has just announced a crossover update we never knew we needed until now.
Developed and published by indie studio Pocketpair, to say that Palworld pretty much became an overnight sensation when it was released on PC and Xbox earlier this year would be an understatement.
Check out the Palworld trailer below!
During its launch on the PC platform Steam, Palworld garnered over 10 million concurrent players, according to SteamDB. That’s of course, not even considering Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One numbers. Today, the concurrent player numbers on Steam are nowhere near that amount but there are currently a reasonable 12,000 players exploring its islands.

However, Pocketpair might be able to draw in new players with crossover events as detailed in today’s story while it continues its legal battle with Nintendo over alleged Pokémon copyright infringement.
The crossover event in question is with the 2011 indie darling, Terraria. Developed by Re-Logic and published by 505 Games, Terraria is a creative sandbox game presented in delightful 2D sprite visuals with comparisons drawn to the other popular sandbox game, Minecraft.
I should say that Terraria was originally released several months before Minecraft despite the latter going on to be a much bigger success globally. That’s not to say Terraria isn't a fantastic game because it most certainly is.

The collaboration was announced on the official Palworld Twitter account saying “2024 isn't finished yet for Palworld and we have some exciting news about the next update coming VERY SOON…”
“But first, we want to tell you about something happening in 2025! Palworld x Terraria!” Details on the event are kept vague at this time but we can’t wait to learn more.
Palworld is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. As for Terraria, it’s available on just about every platform imaginable.
