Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always reunites members of the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers cast for a celebratory special episode to take on an enemy from their past.
Airing on Netflix, the cast comprises Walter Emanuel Jones (original Black Ranger Zack), David Yost (original Blue Ranger Billy), Catherine Sutherland (second Pink Ranger Kat), Steve Cardenas (second Red Ranger Rocky), Karan Ashley (second Yellow Ranger Aisha) and Johnny Yong Bosch (second Black Ranger Adam). The original Red Ranger, played by Austin St. John, is unable to reprise his role due to federal fraud charges where he allegedly spent COVID-19 crisis business relief loans on personal purchases with the assistance of 17 other conspirators.
Tragically, the original Green Ranger Jason David Frank is no longer with us as he passed away last year at the age of 49. As per Entertainment Weekly's exclusive with Jones and Yost, it's not known whether or not the special will be in honour of Frank's legacy, but it is a moment that has been nearly 30 years in the making for the two actors.

Check out a behind-the-scenes clip of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always below:
"Our Ranger family runs deep," said Jones. "We went through the audition process together and launched the Power Rangers franchise," added Yost. "It was such a surreal experience to be on the set of Power Rangers again after 28 years."
Barbara Goodson, who was the voice of Rita Repulsa, is also involved as well as Richard Horvitz and Charlie Kersh. Horvitz is of course the voice of Alpha 5 and Kersh is playing Minh, the daughter of the original Yellow Ranger Trini.

Netflix is keeping its cards close to its chest on the special's storyline, but it is confirmed that a "familiar threat from the past" will rear their head again. "In the midst of a global crisis, they are called on once again to be the heroes the world needs. Inspired by the legendary mantra from the franchise 'Once a Ranger, Always a Ranger,' Once & Always reminds everyone when you become a Ranger, you are always a part of the Ranger family and always welcome," read the release.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always comes to Netflix on 19 April.
