No Man’s Sky collides with Starfield in this new sci-fi RPG that is coming to Steam, so you'd better prepare not to touch grass anytime soon.

When it comes to a sense of adventure and exploration in the sci-fi RPG genre, it perhaps doesn't get much better than No Man’s Sky and Starfield. Sure, both games may have had a rough launch, but they’ve vastly improved over the years, benefiting from a plethora of free content updates.

While Starfield arguably still has some way to go before it fulfils its potential, No Man’s Sky is perhaps the game that has benefited most from its content updates. Though to be fair, it has had a 7-year head start over the Bethesda title, but we’re hopeful Starfield will catch up eventually.

New Steam RPG Has No Man’s Sky and Starfield Vibes!

So, what is the game in question that blends elements of No Man’s Sky and Starfield, I hear you ask? That game is called Atmosfar, developed by Apog Labs.

“Uncover the fate of humanity’s final outpost as you survive and explore a thrilling world of floating islands and soaring beasts. Brave the skies on your own or assemble a squadron of your friends as you scavenge scrap to engineer and upgrade flying vessels while bringing your airbase along for the journey,” reads the synopsis of the game on Steam.

The gameplay trailer certainly has plenty of No Man’s Sky and Starfield vibes, but perhaps also The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Which, to be fair, isn't a bad combination.

In Atmosfar, not only will you be exploring planets and the galaxy, but gathering resources to build ships, bases and more. It also has combat and what looks to be a strong narrative. Oh, and it looks visually pleasing for good measure. Hopefully, it will look and play as good as it appears in the trailers.

What Are Gamers Saying About Atmosfar?

“My body is ready!” declared bytemathays, in the comments section on YouTube.

“Yes! Really looking forward to this!” exclaimed Ermlad.

“Best of luck! This game looks awesome!” said fegodev.

Does Atmosfar Have a Release Date?

Yes, Atmosfar does have a release date, and it’s arriving very soon. Atmosfar is currently scheduled to be released on Steam on 20 May 2026 as an early access title. It might also be worth adding the game to your Steam wishlist, so that you can be notified of any updates.
