Nintendo drops new round of free downloads, but you don't have long

What a way to celebrate a new release

Nintendo Switch users and fans of Luigi himself can check out some free downloads this week but they are pretty limited so don’t miss out.

To celebrate the upcoming release of Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD on 27 June for the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo are giving its users the chance to get their hands on some free downloads for a limited time.

Check out Luigi's Mansion 3 below!

First released in 2013 for the Nintendo 3DS and titled Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD is finally out for the Nintendo Switch today and you can now customise your profile to match.

Available for a short amount of time, Nintendo Switch Online members can get their hands on Luigi’s Mansion inspired profile pictures and backgrounds.

Members can choose from twelve profile images including three of Luigi himself as he zaps those ghosts, ghostly Bones the dog and a scared Toad. We also get the three enemy ghost types: Greenie, Slammer and Hider as well as a bone and a pot - the best ones if you ask me.

Additionally, players can choose between five backgrounds for their Nintendo Switch profile and this creepy selection will be the perfect accompaniment to the game… or just during the spooky months.

These freebies will rotate up until 24 July so who knows what selection we will get next? With Nintendo being the home to so many iconic characters, the options are endless.

All you have to do to claim these freebies is head to the Nintendo Switch online section on your home page and then select ‘Missions & Rewards’. From here you will be able to select the icon or background you want which can be redeemed with five or ten Platinum Coins (Nintendo’s free currency).

In related news, Nintendo also dropped a ton of freebies for the Metroid Dread fans out there.
