breaking news
We’ve been spoiled for Star Wars game announcements of late, and now one more has entered into the breach.
As announced on the Star Wars website, Amy Hennig, the creative director and creator of the Uncharted series, will be working on an all new Star Wars game in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. Hennig previously worked on a Star Wars game with Visceral Games in 2017, before publisher EA cancelled the project and closed the studio. She then created her own division within Skydance Media, called Skydance New Media, which was reported to focus on story-driven experiences. This is the studio which will be creating the new title.

Hennig had this to say about the latest project, “I’ve often described how seeing Star Wars in 1977 essentially rewired my 12-year-old brain, shaping my creative life and future indelibly. I’m elated to be working with Lucasfilm Games again to tell interactive stories in this galaxy that I love.”

Lucasfilm Games were also pleased to have a creative director as talented as Hennig on board. Vice President Douglas Reilly said “We couldn’t be more thrilled to be working again with Amy. She and the Skydance New Media team have the talent and ambition to create a unique Star Wars adventure, their vision for making narrative driven and engaging interactive entertainment makes this collaboration very exciting. We’re working hard with their team of experienced and talented developers, and we’re looking forward to sharing more with Star Wars fans when the time is right.”
Few details are currently available about the project, however, this is the latest in a string of new Star Wars games which have been announced as in development, including Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2, a new FPS from the developers of Titanfall, and a strategy title from the creators of XCOM 2. It seems whatever flavour of Star Wars you are into, something good is coming shortly.
