After it was announced Bloober Team would be getting to work on developing a Silent Hill 2 remake, a recent earnings report reveals there could be further remakes on the way.
Last October saw developers Bloober Team announce they had plans for a Silent Hill 2 remake. Originally released in 2001, the survival horror will be getting a modern-day upgrade alongside some other brand-new games Bloober Team was working on.

Now thanks to a recent update by publisher Konami, the company has revealed it also has plans for further Silent Hill remakes. “As for ongoing efforts, we are working diligently on Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater, which faithfully recreates the story, characters, and game design of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, one of the most beloved entries in the Metal Gear series, and updates its graphical style to modern graphics for the current generation, as well as remakes and completely new entries in the Silent Hill series, which gained popularity as a psychological horror game,” the report reads.

It would make sense that the studio has turned their attention to the rest of the Silent Hill franchise as they revealed its Silent Hill 2 remake was “close” to being completed back in March of this year. The remake will see the title powered by Unreal Engine 5 which will add a whole new element of horror. Additionally, it will welcome an over-the-shoulder camera and an overhaul to combat.
As for the future of Silent Hill that we are aware of, we can expect Silent Hill: Townfall which will be published under Annapurna Interactive. The spin-off of the franchise will be the start of an anthology series created by various creatives. Additionally, Silent Hill F is the ninth instalment in the main Silent Hill franchise which is also expected to be released soon.
It remains to be seen how many more titles Konami and Bloober Team will add to the Silent Hill series but I for one am excited to find out.
