Marvel actor hits out at MCU recast you probably didn't notice

He looked a bit different

With Deadpool & Wolverine continuing to dominate the box office, more and more information about its star-studded cast is coming to light.

The third movie in the Deadpool series welcomed cameos from all over the Multiverse.

Check out the official trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine below!

This included Jennifer Garner returning as Elektra as well as an introduction to Gambit, played by Channing Tatum.

The latter of which was received so well that many fans are calling for a dedicated Gambit movie which I can only assume Marvel would be more than up for doing in the future.

However, it was one more minor cameo that has hit the news recently.

Played by Billy Clements, and looking quite a bit different to how he was portrayed in the 2004 movie, The Punisher also made a brief appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine.

As a variant of The Russian, the new version sported brown hair and a beard as opposed to the clean-shaven face and blond buzz cut made famous by former WWE champion Kevin Nash.

Nash played the villain in the 2004 The Punisher movie but with the role seemingly handed to somebody else in the newest Marvel movie, the wrestler-turned-actor had some choice words.

Speaking on Kliq This: The Kevin Nash Podcast, Nash had some thoughts about this new version of The Russian and none of them were good.

"That looks nothing like the character I played. That looks nothing like The Russian,” he said.

However, it seemed to be all in jest as Nash has previously stated that he has no plans to return to the big screen.

When asked if he would have taken the role if he had been asked, Nash replied:

"I'm 65 years old. What I want to do in life is, I want to go someplace that's not my crib, and be in a hotel, and work a 12-hour day.

And then leave, and go home, and while I cook and prepare my meal and eat it, go over lines for tomorrow.

While I sit in makeup the next day, have somebody run lines with me, and then every time I get a break, run lines again before I shoot a scene, or a scene we're not in, find somebody to run lines with."

So I would take that as a no.
