A trailer for a cancelled LEGO James Bond game just randomly appeared online, but good luck finding it now as someone out there is attempting to scrub its existence off of the internet.
It seems like news of the trailer was first discovered on Reddit, in a thread titled “Unreleased James Bond trailer for LEGO Dimensions” over on the r/legogaming subreddit.
However, if you follow that link now you’ll see that the video that was previously embedded in the post has been “removed by Reddit’s Legal Operations team.”

Check out GAMINGbible's interview with the cast of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew now!
It is very much still out there though. I managed to find it pretty quickly with a pretty straightforward Google search, but unfortunately, it’s probably best we don’t share a link here (that LEGO money can probably buy some good lawyers).
What I can tell you though is that the trailer looks to be extremely thorough. From what I can tell, it’s all cutscenes and no gameplay - but damn, these are some good-looking cutscenes.

The voice acting has also been ripped directly from a few James Bond films, such as Roger Moore’s The Spy Who Loved Me and Daniel Craig’s Spectre, so we can assume that the trailer was supposed to be more of a proof of concept than, y’know, a trailer.
The trailer also displays a watermark for “TT Games”, the studio behind LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, and– honestly, it would actually be easier to list the LEGO games they haven’t made.
It’s pretty difficult to pinpoint exactly when this trailer was made, but, given that it shows Bond wearing the same suit that he wore in Spectre, we can safely assume it was sometime after 2015.
One user in the Reddit thread seems to have been able to narrow the date down a little further though.

“This wasn't actually for LEGO Dimensions year 3,” commented user LEGOGameMuseum, “it was produced as a pitch for The LEGO group to convince them to give the ok for a full game, it was made during the last year Dimensions was being worked on when Tt knew Dimensions wouldn't get a third year of content.”
“Once again, TLG decided Bond wasn't suitable, and vetoed the project. I think this has been found in the data of a Dimensions build, which is where the confusion is coming from.”
That would put the date of the trailer sometime around 2017 - 2018, given that LEGO Dimensions received roughly 2 years of DLC following its 2015 release.
Shame, really. I’m not too crazy about LEGO games these days, but I probably would have given a James Bond-themed one a go.

But who knows? Maybe all this buzz regarding the leaked trailer might inspired TT Games to give it another go…
