So, how are we all finding Legends: Arceus, then? Is it everything you hoped for and more? Personally, my 20+ hours played since launch probably speak for themselves, but I know I’m not the only one who’s loving it - the internet is drowning in love for the Hisui region and all the game has to offer.
With it being a semi open-world game, as you’d expect, players have been discovering all sorts of neat little secrets that you might have missed if you were just speeding through each area to progress the story. Twitter and Reddit are absolutely packed with all sorts of fun clips, but one in particular is currently taking the r/gaming subreddit by storm.
ICYMI... check out 13 minutes of Legends: Arceus gameplay below.
One Reddit user has recorded one of the very best examples of PokéBall throwing of all time. In an incredible shot, they managed to lob a regular ball at a far-off, unsuspecting wild Gyarados, who was swiftly enslaved, sorry, captured, in what could only have been the most confusing five seconds of its life. “You could tell exactly at which moment I dropped my controller in awe,” wrote Addybng, attaching the legendary clip.
Other people on the thread have been understandably impressed, but have also been poking fun at the sheer absurdity of the situation: “Imagine flying around, minding your own business, and then some random yokel comes out of nowhere and beans you upside the head with ball and enslaves you forever,” wrote unfilterthought. “This clip has single handedly forced me to consider getting this game,” said Krakamonster.
If you haven’t thrown yourself into the Hisui region just yet, you’re missing out. Our very own James Daly describes it as “the evolution fans have waited for”, saying that “the heavy borrowing of Zelda elements doesn’t detract from its identity as a Pokémon game, proving that change doesn’t hurt the beloved franchise one bit.” Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some Pokémon to play.
