When you think of Rockstar Games, I’m imagining that either the Grand Theft Auto or Red Dead Redemption franchises spring to mind. They may be Rockstar’s crown jewels, but the publisher is also responsible for a couple of other absolute bangers you may have forgotten about.
Rockstar Games have sent Grand Theft Auto fans into a frenzy after finally providing an update on the highly-anticipated GTA VI. As revealed in a new earnings call, it sounds as if the game may drop during the 2025 fiscal year, which sounds far away but that actually kicks off in April 2024. We still don’t know what GTA VI will look like outside of the leaks which took place during September 2022’s cyber attack. Today though, fans have gathered to remember L.A. Noire. This gem of a game has turned 12 years old, after it was released by Team Bondi and Rockstar all the way back in 2011.
GTA VI is rumoured to be set in Vice City. This incredible mod may give us an idea of what to expect.
If you haven’t played it, L.A. Noire is a third-person action-adventure that sees players take on the role of Cole Phelps, a detective in Los Angeles in 1947. Phelps is tasked with investigating a morphine distribution ring. It’s a case that uncovers a major conspiracy, sending Phelps’ personal life into turmoil in the process. Throughout the game, you’ll interview suspects, engage in gunfights, and speed along in epic car chases. What more could you want?

To this day, fans are desperate for a sequel. Reddit user blackvelvie wrote, “It came out on my birthday. Crazy how 12 years goes by and it’s still a banger. Fun to play today, what a classic, “ while Velocifero604 added, “That’s weird that I was just thinking of this game today! It’s my favourite game of all time. And the ending. WOW! I demand a sequel.”
User joshuastar called it a “once-in-a-generation game” and I think I’d have to agree. Perhaps one day we’ll get that sequel. In the current climate, we could even get a remake. They do seem to be all the rage.
