Horizon Forbidden West players have gathered to remember and pay tribute to Sylens actor Lance Reddick who suddenly passed away last week, on 17 March, at the age of 60.
In addition to his role in Guerrilla Games’ Horizon franchise, Reddick was also known for starring in The Wire, the John Wick film series, and Bungie’s Destiny franchise. Already, Destiny players have gathered at The Tower, where Reddick’s character Commander Zavala can be found, to pay respect. It’s since been discovered that Reddick was playing video games the night before he passed, something he loved dearly. In recent days, John Wick star Keanu Reeves dedicated the upcoming fourth film to the actor.
Responding to the news of Reddick’s passing, Guerrilla Games released a statement that read, “Thank you Lance Reddick for everything you’ve brought to the character of Sylens, for sharing your infinite talent and wisdom with us, for your generous warmth and inimitable presence, and for your profound impact not just as part of our cast, but in our community. We were deeply honoured to work with you. You will be so incredibly missed.”

Now, Horizon Forbidden West players have gathered to share their own tributes to Reddick. Reddit user sandre10 wrote, “I’d love to hear what everyone’s favourite Sylens moment was in the series so far. I personally liked when he admitted he was being ‘needlessly cruel’ to Aloy about her origins in Zero Dawn. It was an interesting point, because I felt like you could read it as him being truly sympathetic, or acting like he was sympathetic because he knew he wouldn’t be able to get more info from her if he kept being unfiltered. [...] Rest well, Mr. Reddick. You will be missed.”
MHadri24 added, “When he saved Aloy from the Sun-Ring and the whole convo back at his base. Goddamn, I’m gonna miss that man’s voice,” while sectornotclear said, “I’m just gonna miss the way he handled Aloy when she thinks she is on her A-game but he keeps her grounded and tests her for what to come. I’m seriously hurt that he passed away. He is amazing in all the stuff he does and I’m surely gonna miss him.”
Dasylupe wrote, “There wasn’t a moment I didn’t enjoy his presence in the game and everything he did. I’m just crushed.” GAMINGbible extends its condolences to the actor’s friends and family.
