Have you ever thought of the Hogwarts residents as wizard gangsters? No? Well, regardless, that’s what we’re getting in this Hogwarts Legacy mod.
Initially released in February this year for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S before arriving on other platforms, Hogwarts Legacy is proving to be one of the big games of 2023. So much so, that it even outsold the lifetime sales of FromSoftware’s Elden Ring in just five weeks.
Set during the late 1890s, you play as a would-be student coming into the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during the fifth year. Once your character is created, you’ll embark on an adventure like never before taking on quests, meeting students, and perhaps even dabbling in the dark arts.

Hogwarts Legacy also features combat, and being a game of wizards and witches, other than a spot of broom flying, you’ll battle fellow students and foes with your trusty wand. However, what if the students weren't equipped with wands, but guns instead?
Sure, that will likely result in bloodshed and mayhem, especially if we’re given the opportunity to gun down Draco Malfoy with an Uzi 9mm. Thankfully for Draco at least, Hogwarts Legacy is its own standalone game set many years prior to the events of Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone. So Draco is safe for now until someone mods him into the game.
Speaking of mods and guns, thanks to the ‘Magic Gun’ mod created by atomzx, Hogwarts Legacy has been turned into a much darker game. Available now on Nexusmods, the description of Magic Gun reads: “When your ordinary magic wand just isn't enough, and you crave something more, something packed with a lot of firepower, then this mod is for you.”
What’s more, the description explains: “This mod replaces your wand with Gloc I mean a magical device that is based on an 1800s historical design and bears no resemblance to any real-world counterparts of the modern era.” Unfortunately, with this being a mod, it’s not available for console versions of Hogwarts Legacy and is for PC only.

Hogwarts Legacy is out now for PC, PlayStation and Xbox. It was supposed to have been released on Nintendo Switch by now, but after suffering multiplayer delays, patient fans will have to wait a little longer to explore Hogwarts on the go.
