Hogwarts Legacy has only been beaten by 25% of players, despite its immense popularity since its initial launch in February 2023.
As reported by GamesRadar, according to Twitter user AdequateEmily, less than 30% of players (currently closer to 25% on Steam) have beaten the main story of Hogwarts Legacy.
This mod of PS1 Hagrid is hilarious. Take a look below.
“People are like 'uhhh it’s a single player game, people only play it once' in the replies and ignoring that there’s a huge drop off in achievements where less than 30% of players have even beaten the final boss,” she said.
Taking a look at the PlayStation trophy list, it currently states that 28.8% of players have finished the story, which isn't too far removed from the Steam statistics. On 21 March 2023, we reported that according to SteamDB, the all-time concurrent player peak was 879,308 (and it still is), but the current player number had dropped to 29,593. However, those numbers have increased a little on Steam for Hogwarts Legacy. At the time of writing, SteamDB confirms that there are currently 46,794 players exploring the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Sure, it’s practically an impossible ask for Hogwarts Legacy to maintain the all-time peak of nearly 880,000, but its drastic drop in concurrent players is hard to argue that it doesn't look at least a little concerning for the action RPG. Following the launch of Hogwarts Legacy, it had beaten the lifetime sales of FromSoftware goliath Elden Ring in just five weeks. It will be interesting to see what the sales numbers of Hogwarts Legacy are year-on-year from its launch.
In other related news, Hogwarts Legacy players are hoping that if game should receive DLC, it'll feature the infamous Black Lake. Hogwarts Legacy is out now for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. It will then release on 5 May for PS4 and Xbox One, followed by Nintendo Switch on 25 July.
