Hogwarts Legacy’s long-awaited Summer Update has finally been unveiled and, well, I’m sure I’m not the only one who is disappointed.
Due to drop in just a few days time on 6 June, the incoming update will end the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop quest’s tenure as a PlayStation exclusive, opening up access on Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
This is something we’ve known about for quite some time but it’s the other teased features and updates that have been piquing our interest for months now, with tons of theories as to what might be added to the game.

Developers were right when they told us to temper our expectations. The Summer Update will introduce a Photo Mode, something many have been asking for since launch, which is nice to see but that’s about where the excitement ends.
The update will also add the ability to reset talent points in addition to the following items: The Glasses That Lived, Azkaban Prisoner’s Outfit & Coat, Lavender Borealis Broom, Felix Felicis Potion Recipe, and the Onyx Hippogriff Mount.
If you wrapped up your playthrough last year, I shouldn’t think these items alone will draw you back in.
Of course, PC, Xbox, and Switch players have the lure of the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop quest but as for Hogwarts Legacy’s PlayStation players? There’s not much in the way of enticement here.

It’s also been brought to light that a game-breaking bug remains at large.

Reddit user FreezerCop wrote, “A year-old AAA game that still has a progress-killing bug that's been there since launch: My kid's 20 hour PS4 save looks like it's dead and gone due to the 'falling through the map' glitch. Came here to find a solution, saw lots of people with the same issue but no fix, other than ‘try running east for 15 [to] 20 minutes’ which doesn't work.”

“Why hasn't the dev patched this out yet? Any other major release with something like this in it after this long would have been review-bombed into the ground.”
If you too are experiencing this issue, you can avoid it by loading up previous manual saves.
That might not work if you’ve relied purely on autosave, as is the case for FreezerCop, as every available autosave begins with the clipping through the floor.
Thankfully, there is some hope on the horizon.

Developers previously confirmed that the summer update will feature a number of bug fixes so when the patch notes are launched in a few days time, we will (presumably) see this particular menace addressed.
You can bet that we’ll be back on Wednesday with that full patch notes debrief.
