Hogwarts Legacy is a major commercial success, but it’s by no means a perfect game. Fun? Sure, but there’s plenty of room for improvement - a fact that fans are certainly agreed on.
In case you missed it, Hogwarts Legacy sold a whopping 12 million copies in the first two weeks of release alone, with experts estimating that the game’s revenue will now have exceeded $1 billion. With the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One launch still to come on 5 May, followed by the Nintendo Switch release on 25 July, these figures are only going to keep growing. Despite the financial success though, fans agree that the game could do with a couple of tweaks. Strangely, most of the additions fans want actually appear to be aspects of cut content.
Someone modded PS1 Hagrid into Hogwarts Legacy. Take a look below.
Whether it’s Quidditch, an explorable Black Lake, or a morality and companion system, Hogwarts Legacy is full of hints to suggest that these things once existed. If such ideas were implemented in a potential Hogwarts Legacy 2, players are convinced that the sequel could be “spectacular”. Reddit user mthibodeau99 wrote, “I know it’s still pretty early to be talking about this. Please don’t take this the wrong way, there is a lot I love about Hogwarts Legacy [... but] I still can’t shake the feeling in the back of my mind that this game was a bit rushed and suffered from the studio being forced to meet a deadline and cutting lots of content.”

“Just scrolling through this sub, you can see a lot of the gripes I am talking about that people have with the game. It feels like a really really good proof of concept and shows that a game like this could definitely work. Once they start rolling out the dev cycle for Hogwarts Legacy 2 in a few years, they already have Hogwarts castle built, a lot of the terrain and enemies built, most of the combat system and what not - and all they have to do would be to expand upon it.” Plenty of fellow players agreed.
User proudream said, “Yeah I agree. There was a lot of content that was cut (which happens to most games), but they removed the best ones: companions, morality system, Quidditch. Now that they have a good base game, it should be easier for them to focus on those more complex things for the sequel.” I should add, a sequel hasn’t yet been announced but given the financial success, I’d imagine that’ll eventually change.
