It feels like old news now, but for many PC players, they will be unable to join in the revelries of the GTA VI launch, unless they have a console they can boot up on launch day.

For years now, Rockstar Games has prioritised consoles over PC development for myriad reasons, but that doesn’t make it any less disappointing for PC players desperate to explore Vice City.

PC players will miss out on the launch day of GTA 6

We don’t have a timeline for when GTA VI will release on PC - GTA V took many months, and the Red Dead Redemption titles also took some time.

Of course, this upsets many eager fans, leaving them gutted that they have to wait.

In a thread on Reddit titled, “How do PC players feel about possibly waiting 1 or 2 years for GTA 6?” fans are lamenting the wait.

With a modicum of patience, one player said, “We PC players are a patient bunch. I'd bet some people will even wait for it to be discounted before buying it, lol.”

Of course, there are those much more upset, as the top reply is simply a gif of a child crying, with the caption “I’m fine.”

Then there are those looking at consoles, commenting, “browsing second hand PS5s.”

It could take many months for Vice City to be unleashed on PC - ex-Rockstar Games devs have stated that optimisation is tougher for PC, while fans think it could be for a future boost in sales.

“I am disgusted about these marketing practices, honestly,” says AbstractHexagon - this opened a can of worms.

Redditor darkbinds lays it out, saying they aren’t feeling great about it, but, “there isn't much we can do about it. Either buy a ps5 and double dip when the game drops on pc a year or two later.”

Others are resorting to console purchases to prevent spoilers, like Sorry-Advisor-1337, who says, “I’m picking up a PS5 for this one game, just to not get spoiled by accidentally using the internet for 1-2 years, if that answers your question.”

What will you do? Avoid spoilers and buy a console? Or accept that you’ll get the story spoiled and wait?
