When is GTA 6 being released in India?

Seeing as Grand Theft Auto V is one of the most popular video games of all time, it’s no surprise that fans are desperate to get their hands on the sequel, aptly named Grand Theft Auto VI (Although you’re more likely to see GTA 6 online). Well, developer Rockstar Games officially announced the existence of GTA 6 back in February 2022, promising fans that “active development for the next entry in the series is underway”.

We’ve heard little else since then. In September, Rockstar Games was subject to a major cyber attack during which over an hour of development footage was stolen and leaked online, alongside source code and screenshots. It was a worst-case-scenario situation for Rockstar Games, but the leak did provide us with fresh news on GTA 6’s release date - and we now have a much better idea about when Rockstar’s upcoming Grand Theft Auto instalment will release in India.

It’s no surprise that the Grand Theft Auto franchise has a huge fan base, and fans are keen to find out when GTA 6 will finally release in India. The truth is, Rockstar Games is yet to announce an official release date for the game, but industry insiders have put forward a potential release window following the major GTA 6 leak which recently took place.

Insiders have suggested that GTA 6 will be released in India - and worldwide - in 2025. Until a release date is confirmed by Rockstar Games, this has to be taken with a pinch of salt but it certainly sounds like a plausible release date. Although we don’t know exactly when the leaked GTA 6 footage was created, it did seem to suggest that the game was still in the mid-stages of production.

As such, it makes sense that a release date for GTA 6 in India is likely to be at least two years away. The release date was suggested by prominent leaker PereaAdrien who has provided accurate intel on a number of occasions. Given the anticipation surrounding GTA 6, Rockstar Games will want the game to be in a great condition so some are suggesting that the release date could even stretch to 2026. Developers have confirmed though that the leak has not impacted the release date. Either way, fans should expect GTA 6 to be released in India in two to three years time.
