The hype surrounding Grand Theft Auto VI is palpable as marketing is beginning to get underway ahead of the highly anticipated game’s 19 November launch.
By all accounts, it doesn’t appear as if GTA VI should be subject to any further delays with the game’s third trailer expected imminently.
That trailer is due to land ahead of Take-Two Interactive’s next earnings call on 21 May and will likely mark the opening of pre-orders and the beginning of the game’s marketing campaign.
Arguably, GTA VI’s marketing is already quietly underway.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick can’t stop talking about the game to the world’s media, with Rockstar Games also having resumed responding to the community on social media after a break of several years.
As for when trailer three might land, it’s anyone’s guess, with the only real clue being that Rockstar has a proven affinity for Tuesdays.
In the meantime, one dataminer has uncovered an update to GTA VI’s listing on the PlayStation Store that proves news is imminent.
Reddit user kindacrazyBoy took to the site to share that there is hidden content on GTA VI’s PlayStation Store page.
“Some hidden content found on the GTA VI PlayStation store page,” they wrote. “Was updated/added less than a month ago, could mean news soon.”
“The ‘pdc-root-dam-asset-path’ basically is a file path to assets ‘images, text, metadata’,” they continued.
This, to state the obvious, doesn’t give us much to go on with the datamined content hardly revealing anything in the way of editions, cover art or pricing.
It is, however, yet another welcomed reminder that pre-orders are very much on the precipice of opening.
It’s not the first time Rockstar Games has made preparations regarding pre-orders.
You may recall that when GTA VI’s Xbox Store listing landed last year, it came accompanied with a download.
You couldn’t even call it a preload; it was essentially a preload to the preload, allowing users to nab 328.76MB of files.
Plenty of excited fans did just that although it was, at the end of the day, a waste of storage that far in advance.
Loading up the files once installed would simply display GTA VI’s key art.
You do wonder whether the PlayStation Store or Xbox Store will be able to handle the vast amount of traffic that’ll be coming their way very soon when pre-orders do open.
It’s perhaps also apt to mention here that it’s been revealed that PlayStation has secured an exclusive marketing deal with Rockstar Games for GTA VI.
There’s no word yet on exactly what this might look like in practice, but it’ll surely include an incentive to check out GTA VI on PS5 as opposed to rival platforms.
PlayStation users might be lured in with free exclusive DLC, earlier pre-orders, or an exclusive mission. It’s impossible to tell, but this is information worth keeping in mind as we approach pre-orders.
When they do open, we’ll bring that update to you.
