Buried amongst all the rumours and leaks surrounding Grand Theft Auto VI, there is one that, despite its importance, is seemingly not being discussed.

Over the past decade, even before it was officially announced, Grand Theft Auto VI has been the subject of multiple leaks and rumours.

Take a look at GTA VI in action below.

However, that is perhaps not surprising considering it is one of the most anticipated games of all time.

In amongst all of the speculation, there have been certain details that have stood out more than most and have even been confirmed in the first official GTA VI trailer we received back in December.

One feature, that has not yet been confirmed but has damning evidence, is the potential co-op gameplay.

As we do know, GTA VI will feature protagonists Jason and Lucia and much like Michael, Trevor and Franklin in Grand Theft Auto V, we can expect to switch between the pair when needed/at will.

However, according to some information discovered by one user on r/GTA6, our new protagonists could be controlled by two players.

If this is true, it is the first time this will have been done in Grand Theft Auto’s story mode.

“As I delved into the leaks, I stumbled upon what appears to be a 'Player Action Manager' that showcases various in-game actions available to players,” the user explained.

“The manager consists of five different sections: Action List, Source States, Action Context, Scenarios, and Conditional Actions.”

For example, they go on to explain that there are actions such as “Downed Self Revive” which could mean that, if the other player is busy, you will be able to revive yourself.

“The Buddy Comms action also piques curiosity,” they continued.

“The use of buddy in this context might imply a code word for another co-op player, as it would make little sense to refer to the two main characters as buddies in the game's narrative. It could involve communication between the two players, possibly for coordination, sharing information, or strategising, or could maybe even involve voice chat.”

As with any leaks, it is worth taking this information with a pinch of salt.

However, a feature as major as this would definitely make Grand Theft Auto history.
