Some Grand Theft Auto fans believe GTA VI could be the last one ever made, which seems impossible quite frankly.
GTA VI is still at least a year away. I say at least because Rockstar Games is yet to confirm when in 2025 the game will launch. It’s also believed the game will only be available for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 on launch day, so poor PC players will have to wait even longer for their version of the game.
Check out GTA VI below.
As you can imagine the never-ending waiting has led to a lot of speculation about the game, though some are looking further ahead and theorising it could be the last GTA game ever made.

One fan made a post on Reddit saying, “Has anyone entertained the idea that GTA VI might be the last GTA game? Rockstar probably has other ideas cooking up including rumours of a new IP after the release in 2025.”
In short, fans thought this idea was absolutely preposterous, and that Rockstar Games would never end its most successful franchise regardless of how long it’s been going for. “Why kill the infinite money glitch,” wrote one fan, while another added, “GTA is one of the most profitable franchises, why would they just stop it?”
Now to be fair, GTA VI will probably be the last Grand Theft Auto game we get for several years. Firstly because it’s taken so long to make this one, it’s expected another decade will pass before we even catch a glimpse of GTA VII. There’s also the possibility that GTA VI will be followed by Red Dead Redemption 3, or even the return of other classic Rockstar IPs like Bully.
In the end though, it’s practically guaranteed that more GTA games are on the way, not anytime soon but they’re definitely coming. You can forgive fans though for falling into a bit of panicked delusion. For now though let’s just focus on GTA VI, which launches in 2025 for Xbox Series X/S and PS5.
