The very thought of GTA VI being delayed is enough to kick off more discourse among fans.
Yet, despite not wanting to keep hearing about the possibility of a delay, fans are bracing themselves for one to be announced within the next 24 hours.
On 6 February, Take-Two Interactive will hold its earnings conference. Conceivably, during this meeting, GTA VI will come up.

It’s speculated that this is the prime time for a delay to be revealed if one is coming, or for the release date to be specified.
Looking back on previous Rockstar Games launches, this has been the predominant formula.
One day, we'll look back on the GTA VI drama and laugh. Until then, let's just watch the trailer again
What also seems consistent with the publisher is for a delay to happen, with several previous titles having launched later than intended.

Furthermore, industry insider, Jason Schreier, commented in December how “shocked” they’d be if GTA VI released as planned.
“I would be shocked if it doesn't slip to 2026. I'd be shocked if it actually hits fall 2025, but as of right now, Take-Two is saying that they're on track,” Schreier said.
They added, “I would be shocked if it actually made it next year. I think that it will probably slip again because Rockstar games always slip.”
Despite these remarks, coupled with growing unrest among fans, Rockstar has assured gamers that 2025 is GTA VI’s year.

Now all fans can do is wait with bated breath for 6 February, hoping against hope that an announcement will be made.
Even if there is a delay, at this stage it seems like fans just want to know one way or another.
One thing’s for certain: when it does finally launch, it’s going to be one of the most talked about titles in video game history.
Whether that’s enough to warrant a steep $100 price tag remains to be seen.
