GTA 6 Dev Review Sparks Third Delay Fears All Over Again

GTA 6 needs to be perfect, so this new dev update is worrying to say the least

Grand Theft Auto VI is in trouble once again and those third delay fears are starting to creep back through.

The next Grand Theft Auto game is set to shatter all records and expectations when it inevitably launches with its publisher Take-Two Interactive continuously teasing its supposed perfection.

Rockstar Games on the other hand has continued its stint of radio silence and while that’s always been the studio’s style there might be a more sinister reason for why we haven’t heard from it. No one has time to say anything.

GTA 6 Crunch Is Real And It Has Big Implications For Launch

Rockstar has been working on GTA VI for years now and it’s no small statement to say it’s the biggest game the team has ever produced.

It’ll have also brought several new technical challenges, being the first fully new-gen game in the studio’s repertoire.

Some of these challenges have been highlighted by one of Rockstar Games’ former employees, in a review left for the company on Glassdoor shared by GTA 6 Countdown.

Glassdoor is a website where you can share your thoughts and feelings on a company after working with them, which would-be employees can look at to decide if it’s worth applying for a job there.

The anonymous Rockstar employee cited "unrealistic workload and expectations” as a prevalent issue within the company, and that while the “free food is nice” the time crunch is abhorrent.

“They’re expecting us to complete tasks that usually take 5-6 months in 2-3 months” said the employee, adding that complaints to management go nowhere.

It was also claimed staff are expected to work without pay, with some even staying late until 3am.

While we’d expect Rockstar Games to be a hectic work environment the full extent of the chaos is worrying to say the least.

GTA VI is apparently locked into its 19 November launch with Take-Two Interactive’s CEO seemingly having faith Rockstar will meet its new deadline.

From this Glassdoor review it’s clear the studio is working very hard to make that happen, but with the game’s launch only months away it’s concerning to hear how the game is progressing.

This has understandably sparked concerns that a third delay could be on the table after all.

GTA 6 Marketing Begins Any Day Now

Fortunately we'll be due to find out more later this month as it’s believed GTA VI’s marketing campaign will kick-off sometime during May.

The game’s third trailer is what everyone wants to see but after this week’s news it’s going to be a very tense affair. We’re going to be looking extra closely at what release date is given at the end. Many are also hoping preorders for the game will go live this month too.

GTA VI is once again in a weird spot of limbo but we’re sure it’ll all work out. As long as the game’s quality doesn’t suffer from its turbulent development cycle Rockstar Games is bound to be launching another banger later this year.
