GTA VI may well be landing on consoles beyond the standard PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S models, as if we weren't having a difficult enough time imagining the next Grand Theft Auto launching at all.
It's been what feels like 1,000 years since Rockstar first officially confirmed the existence of GTA VI. That's all we've had in an official capacity, though the major September leak has given way to numerous unofficial details finding their way online. At this stage we can be fairly certain that the new GTA will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, but it's been suggested the game will go beyond these platforms.
Take a look at everything we know about GTA VI below!
The most recent reports suggest GTA VI is likely to land during the fiscal year 2025, which actually begins April 2024. As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, we also know that GTA VI is ready to run on PlayStation 5 Pro and Xbox Series X Pro consoles - assuming they're released between now and the game's planned launch.

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick was asked whether he expects to see another round of hardware released before the console generation is over. He believes this will “probably” be the case, but added it would likely “not affect the business very much”. This, of course, implies they're ready for any new hardware that might arise.
Leaks suggest a souped-up PlayStation 5 Pro console could arrive in 2024, and it's likely an enhanced Xbox Series model wouldn't be too far behind. If these new consoles do indeed line up with the launch of GTA VI, it could be that the long-awaited sequel releases alongside the mid-gen hardware refresh. This doesn't mean GTA VI would be unplayable on the standard PS5 and Xbox Series consoles, of course, but we'd imagine the superior hardware would have some added benefits.
