Grand Theft Auto VI is on the way - that much we know. What remains a mystery is exactly when it’s coming, and it sure does feel like we’ve been waiting forever. When a full reveal does arrive, I truly think it’ll have the power to break the internet - and according to one insider, that day could be very soon.
Last year, Rockstar Games fell victim to a major cyber attack that saw over an hour’s worth GTA VI development footage leaked online alongside source code and screenshots. It was a huge shame for Rockstar, but it did confirm to GTA fans that development is well underway. In fact, the leak seemingly confirmed that the game would have dual male and female protagonists and would be set in Vice City. This had been rumoured for quite some time and now the leaker who first suggested that GTA VI would have a female protagonist is claiming to have seen the game’s trailer.

As reported by Dexerto, YouTuber SanInPlay was one of the first people to share details of Lucia, one half of the leading Bonnie and Clyde style duo alongside Jason. Now, SanInPlay has taken to Twitter to cryptically hint about GTA VI’s first trailer. He wrote, “Plane passes, a lizard crosses the street, Lucia is in prison exercising, dogs are playing, a little doggy rolls on the beach.”

If Lucia and Jason truly are a Bonnie and Clyde style duo, then it would be fitting for Lucia to start the game behind bars. Perhaps her love Jason is the one to get Lucia her freedom. The YouTuber didn’t provide any further details on when the supposed trailer might be released but if it’s seemingly ready to go, it can’t be too far away.
As Dexterto points out, Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two Interactive will hold their next earnings call on 6 February, so it could fall around then. As always, do take this with a pinch of salt until anything is officially confirmed but SanInPlay has proved to be a reliable source in the past.
