A GTA V player has finally discovered how to skateboard in Los Santos. Well, kinda.

Without a doubt, GTA V is one of the most popular video games of all time; in fact, it’s one of the most popular entities in all of entertainment, making a reported $10 billion since its initial launch in 2013 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

The success of GTA V is a major reason why Rockstar Games has re-released it on every console generation since, the latest being PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in March 2022. However, it still doesnt come close to the re-releases of Bethesda’s Skyrim (which has to be in double figures by now), it has to be said.

Now, players are eagerly waiting for the arrival of Grand Theft Auto VI later this year. GTA VI stars Jason and Lucia, inspired by the infamous crime duo, Bonnie and Clyde, and it will take us back to the neon-lit Vice City. I can’t wait!

Players Get Creative in GTA V

You may have thought that, with this popular entry in the Grand Theft Auto series being nearly 13 years old at this point, players may struggle to find new ways to enjoy the game. If you thought that, you’d be wrong.

Take, for example, this clip shared by the Twitter account ‘GTA 6 Countdown’, of one of the three playable characters in GTA V, Franklin Clinton, going for a skateboard ride (kinda) in the high hills of Los Santos.

During the clip in question, the player as Franklin shoots the hood off a car, jumps on it and rides all the way to the bottom of the steep hill. To be honest, I’m very surprised they didn't kill poor Franklin. But I’m glad he’s ok.

“If we keep finding new things to do in this game, Rockstar Games is never going to release GTA VI,” warned Invjolt.

“Good thing there is a hospital that fixes you in seconds back to 100%,” joked Injirleefe.

It will be interesting to see what else the creative GTA V community comes up with leading up to the launch of the highly anticipated sixth-numbered entry. I'll have my fingers crossed that we might be able to actually skateboard in the game without vandalising a fancy car.

As long as Grand Theft Auto VI suffers no further delay, it will be released on 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
